Seek God for the city 2018 smallerCHARLOTTESVILLE, Virginia (ANS, November 6, 2017) – Steve Hawthorne and the WayMakers team in Austin, Texas have outdone themselves with the 2018 edition of Seek God for the City. This is the twenty-third edition of the iconic prayer guide that was first began by Tom Pelton during the 1990’s Decade of Evangelism.

I have been using this book personally during the Lenten/Easter for two decades and the 2018 edition is the best version I have seen yet. You can order free review copies from Stephanie Tucker at 512-419-7729 or online at www.waymakers.org

Final orders need to be by January 29 so for those who head up committees, churches or campus movements—the time to engage leadership and order review copies is now. For clergy and church leaders planning out the 2018, it is important to plan now so the 2018 edition can be displayed and ordered as early as possible in the new year.

The WayMakers publishing team has prepared posters and bulletin inserts to match the themes and is also publishing the guide in Chinese, Spanish and in children’s and online editions.

The 65-page book retails for $3 each and there are bulk discounts for pastors and local church leaders who want to order the book for local church and campus use. It is designed to begin in the first week of Lent, February 14-24, and ends on Palm Sunday, March 25.

The booklet promotes personal spiritual awakening and world evangelization. It includes prayers for every “nation state’ in the world and 40 “hidden people groups who live around us” such as broken families, health care workers, laborers, men, refugees, singles, women. The prayer prompts action and will renew your vision to see the world around you as God does.

Steve Sjogren headed up the six-person editorial team at Hope Chapel in Austin which spearheaded the 2018 edition. It included Steve Hawthorne, Francisco Mendoza, Deborah Costenader, Trudy Landis, Peter Nevland, Irene Wargo and others. Sean Pavone did the cover photo of Portland, Maine -- and it provides an urban theme throughout

Seek God for the City is printed in full-color throughout and includes daily scriptures, themes, devotional thoughts and “prayer walking” suggestions. Each page is pregnant with ideas and the editors have obviously used an editorial shoe horn to get it all packed in.

Steve Sjogren, now a Vineyard pastor in Cincinnati believes that “Small things done well with great love will change the world.” This year, more than ever, he has proven his point.

WayMakers, which publishes the book, also does PrayerConnect Magazine and other guides such as 30 Day of Prayer for the Muslim World. It is affiliated with Love2020, the Mission America Coalition, the National Prayer Committee, Denomination Prayer Leaders Network and the International Prayer Council.

With every purchase you make Amazon will donate 0.5% of the purchase price to ASSIST. It’s very easy to make this happen. All you need to do is shop via www.smile.amazon.com and select the charity of your choosing for your donation. I am asking that you make Aid to Special Saints in Strategic Times (ASSIST) your designated charity for the site. AmazonSmile is the same Amazon you know with the same products, same prices and same service. It’s that simple![/pb_tab_item][pb_tab_item heading="CGF" ]Another way to help ASSIST is to make purchases through the Charitable Giving Foundation. Just go to the CGF website and everything is explained: charitablegivingfoundation.org
I recommend you view the short video. After you make a purchase, click on the “Causes” tab and fill in the “Select a Cause – After Purchase” form. This form allows you to select your designated charity. Aid to Special Saints in Strategic Times (ASSIST) is located under the “Religious” section. You will only need to fill in the form the first time you make a purchase.[/pb_tab_item][/pb_tab][/pb_column][/pb_row]
