Noted missionary Dave Eubank is worried about the recent political upheaval in Syria. He’s calling on the U.S. to resist jihadi fighters in the north supported by Turkey, as well as the new Syrian Islamist government consolidating power in Amman.
Both these groups could crush the Christians, Kurds, Yazidis and peace-loving Arabs who live in the region of the Euphrates River.

“It’s absolutely brutal,” a source reported to Dave Eubanks. “It’s like ISIS came back. It’s a nightmare.”
HTS, a former Al Qaeda group, swept over Aleppo, Hama, Homs and Damascus to oust Bashar al-Assad and set up a new Syrian government. For the moment, HTS is pledging fair treatment to Christians, but many fear its hardened jihadist leader, Abu Muhammad al-Jawlani, is buying time as he strengthens his grip on power.
To the north, several factions are vying for power, including the Turkish-backed, ISIS sympathizing Free Syrian Army that took over Manbij and attacked Kobani.

“In the taking of Manbij, they slaughtered hundreds of people, including one of our friends whose name was Escandar, who was from Idlib,” Eubank told CBN. “The Free Syria Army has killed hundreds of people, we don’t know, maybe over a thousand.”
While his primary ministry focus is Myanmar/Burma, Eubank has ministered to victims of war in Iraq and Syria through the years.
Turkey is aggressively attacking the Kurds, whom they accuse of terrorism in Turkey. Kurds lack a homeland and live in Turkey and Syria. In attacking this ethnic people group, Turkey has no scruples bombarding and shelling them across the border into Syria. They sponsor the FSA military to crush Kurds.

The Kurds were a critical component in the U.S. military strategy to destroy ISIS. They have been a significant ally to the United States and a stabilizing force in the chaotic region.
Under the pressure of Shia Islamic extremists on the one hand and Sunni Islamic extremists on the other, the Christians in Syria have dwindled from 1.5 million before 2011 to under 300,000 two years ago.
“Can Syria’s dwindling Christian community survive under jihadi rebel rule?” the Times of Israel asked in December.
