Neath, UK (ANS) – This October, Neighbourhood Prayer Network and Leading the Way UK will be joining forces to mobilise UK Christians to pray across our family of nations on the topic of the importance of Biblical truth in our society.
2020 has seen two weeks of prayer, organised by Neighbourhood Prayer Network across its UK membership of nearly 7,500 people. The first prayer week, back in March at the outset of the current pandemic included reports for each part of the nation, whilst asking for God’s protection. The second week, at the end of the London Prayer Loop, focused on praying for the harvest and asking for a move of God in our communities.
This final prayer week of 2020 brings together Neighbourhood Prayer Network and Leading the Way UK, the ministry of Dr Michael Youssef, to pray for a restoration of Biblical truth in our society. The Prayer Week will take place between Sunday 11th October and Saturday 17th October.
Each day, there will be special ‘in conversation’ programmes available on social media and YouTube, which will speak to different areas of society.
Among the guests already confirmed are Gavin Calver, CEO of the Evangelical Alliance, the Rt Revd Philip Mountstephen, Bishop of Truro, Mervyn Thomas, Founder and President of Christian Solidarity Worldwide, David L’Herroux, CEO of United Christian Broadcasters, Peter Kerridge, CEO of Premier Christian Media Group and Sir Brian Souter, Founder and Chairman of Stagecoach.
In addition, each day, there will be a devotional from Rev Dr RT Kendall which relates to the topic of the day.
During the week, there will also be an exclusive message from Dr Michael Youssef to the UK Church.
Speaking about the forthcoming Prayer Week, Carl Brettle, CEO of Neighbourhood Prayer Network said:
“In our quest to touch the whole of the British Isles through a message of prayer, care and share, we are delighted to be working with Leading the Way UK, developing a theme for this prayer week on Biblical truth in Society.
“What better way to bring together all our work in this coronavirus pandemic focusing on the most historically impactful book in world history. I would encourage churches, leaders and individuals the length and breadth of the country to engage in this prayer week and go deeper in Biblical truth than we have ever gone before!”
Dr Alan Kerbey, UK Director of Leading the Way added:
“I am thrilled that Leading the Way is joining forces with Neighbourhood Prayer Network for this special week of prayer. The theme chosen for the week – the importance of Biblical truth in society – could not be more relevant in the difficult, uncertain and challenging times in which we are living.
“Leading The Way’s emphasis on the importance of proclaiming the uncompromising truth of God’s word and Neighbourhood Prayer Network’s mandate to see Christians take spiritual responsibility for each of the 260,000 streets in the UK, brings together two organisations which have a passion to see widespread renewal in our churches and a spiritual reformation which will sweep across the British Isles.”
